Roy, the beloved husband of Mabel, passed away peacefully at home in Coldstream, BC on Wednesday, August 9, 2023. Roy was a devoted husband and father. He shared 62 years of love and friendship with his wife Mabel.

Roy was born and raised in Calgary, AB. He graduated from SAIT and his early career with Uniroyal landed him in Edmonton, AB, where he started his family. He went on to become the owner of his own successful business Hydro-flex Hose. In 1998, Roy sold his business and retired with Mabel to Celista, BC (Shuswap Lake).

During his time in Edmonton, Roy was an active member of ACT, including a term as President of the Edmonton Chapter. In addition, he was actively involved in Cub Scouts and took the role of Akela for a club in Belvedere, Edmonton. Roy enjoyed curling, golfing, and was a fan of the TV show “Jeopardy!”.

Roy and Mabel travelled to many places in the world, including Hawaii, where they found the inspiration to build their retirement dream home in the Shuswap. After retirement, they expanded their travels to include New Zealand and Australia and became frequent snowbirds in Palm Springs, California.

Roy was the father of four sons, Steven (Jacqueline), Russell (Diane), Colin (Dione), and Trent. He was the grandfather to eight grandchildren, Samantha, Shaun, Caleb, Danika, Tanner, Cale, Jordan, and Haley; and great-grandfather to three great-grandchildren, Zoey, Nash, and Maxx. He is also survived by his sister Elaine (Albin) and family. He was predeceased by his parents, Dorothy and Thomas, his brother Robert, and his niece Sandra.
