Obituary of Christine Parker

July 10, 1945 - Barnsley, England

November 14, 2023 - Calgary, Alberta

Christine Parker passed away into the presence of her Lord and Saviour at the age of 78 years in Calgary, AB, on November 14, 2023.

Her family is forever grateful to the loving care she received from the staff at Carewest, George Boyack during these last two months.

She was born in Barnsley, South Yorkshire, England, on July 10, 1945, to John and Winnifred Stott. She emigrated to Crowsnest Pass, AB, Canada in 1974 with her husband John, and their three girls, Adele (Tuff), Alison (Deagle), and Claire (Long). She forever missed her family in England.

They moved to Fort Saskatchewan, AB, shortly after, and settled in Calgary, AB, in 1981.

Christine had many jobs over the years. The most fulfilling for her was the time she spent at Father Lacombe Nursing Home as a Nurse’s Assistant. There couldn’t have been a more caring, and compassionate person looking after her charges.

She spent considerable time in her younger years devoted to leading bible studies, participating in prayer groups, and reaching out to others through care ministries at Southview Alliance Church.

Christine was an avid quilter, and knitter. Her family has many amazing pieces that they will always treasure.

Her greatest joy was her grandchildren, Danielle, Evan, Emily, Aaron, Lucas, and Zachary. She loved them tirelessly and prayed for them unceasingly. They have countless special memories of an awesome gramma and have been blessed to experience the richness of her unfailing presence.

Rest easy our beautiful mom, gramma, great-gramma, sister, aunt, and friend.
