Obituary of Helen Dueck

Helen Dueck of Calgary, AB, went to be with our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on August 22, 2023. Helen was born on October 17, 1952 in St Pierre-Jolys, MB.

She was blessed with two wonderful children, nine grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren who were her love and joy! Helen drove school bus in her earlier years and then continued on to drive city bus in Calgary for 25 years, making it her long-time career.

Helen was an extremely generous person spending countless hour a week cooking for the Food Bank by her church, cooking at annual church camps, having weekly soup days with friends at her place and many more church and personal functions, providing food for all! Helen would make many many trips, sometime take bus loads, to the local Hutterite colony to pick up eggs, chickens, vegetables and whatever else was provide for whomever wanted food supplies, as well as her annual trips to Manitoba for New Bothwell Cheese, Farmer sausage, Noodles and LaCocina chips. Her joy was serving and cooking for whoever wanted and sometimes even if you didn’t want.

Helen leaves behind her children, Jarvis (Hearthez) Dueck, and Michelle (Mike) Petrollini; her grandchildren, Taylor, Rica, John, Steven (Sherdian), Kaitlyn, Kyra, Emma, Evan; and her great grandchildren, Wren, and Noah.

She was predeceased by her parents, John and Margaret Dueck; her brothers, John Dueck, and George Dueck; her sister Mary Doerksen, her Daughter-In-Law Donna Dueck, and her Granddaughter Riley Dueck.

Funeral Services will take place at Eastside City Church (1320 Abbeydale Dr SE, Calgary, AB) on Monday, August 28, 2023, starting at 3:00 p.m. with a reception to follow at the Eastside City Church. Graveside service will follow at the Mountain View Memorial Gardens (1515 100 St SE, Calgary, AB).
