Condolences
I just learned of Mary’s passing. Mary was the beloved godmother of Janine Blinston, my best friend of 52 years. Sadly Janine passed away several years ago and I last saw Mary at her service. I first met “Auntie Mary” when I was 7 years old. Janine and I were such dear friends that her family became my family and vice versa so I adopted Auntie Mary and Uncle Gerry as my own. We saw them often as Janine’s parents, Eddie and Isabel were so close with Mary and Gerry. I have such fond memories of them both. I kept in touch with Mary over the years as much as possible. We had delightful chats over the phone where we reminisced of the endless teasing that Uncle Gerry was so joyfully guilty of and other memories of times gone by. I kept up with news of Murray and his wife Rebecca, to whom I share my deepest condolences along with those of Janine’s brother Gordon and her husband, Nick. We loved Auntie Mary very much. May she rest in everlasting peace and may the many memories of her bring you comfort.
Sincerely and with love,
Heather Johnson (nee Crawford)
I wish to express my sincere condolences to Murray, Rebecca and all of Mary’s family. I hope that the many memories you have made together will bring you some comfort and peace. Mary was a very dear friend who was so wise, thoughtful and kind to everyone. I think of her fondly as I drive by Chartwell on the way to Parkdale Nifty Fifties Seniors Association. I say a thank you to her and the other founding members for their foresight and dedication to building the beautiful facility that still brings pleasure to seniors forty years after it was completed. I will miss Mary but will never forget her as I feel her spirit alive in the halls of Parkdale Nifty Fifties. Rest in peace, dear lady, you have lived a wonderful life.
Sincere sympathy,
Dorothy Hlady
To the family of my dear friend Mary Birch. My heart felt sympathy & love in the loss of your dear mum. What a wonderful age she lived to, always such caring, loving, warm hearted lady whom I will never forget. I met her thru your dad while working at Inland Cement, my daughter & I frequented their home (on Varmoor Dr NW) & vice versa. Your Mum was a fabulous cook, I inly wish I had kept more recipes from her as they were the best iof the best.
Before your dad passed away he had told me that I helped hum to quit drinking after how many years?
I will cherish the many times we had together & keep those memories close to my heart.
RIP (Mary)
