Obituary of Frederick Dale Kirkham

October 25, 1946 – Yorkton, Saskatchewan

Fred Kirkham, beloved husband of  Anne Kirkham  (nee Shephard), of Calgary, AB, passed away on Sunday, August 27, 2023 at the age of 76 years.

Besides his loving wife, Fred is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Andrea and Rory Brownell of Calgary, and his daughter, Amanda Kirkham of Edmonton, as well as his grandchildren, Jeremy, Alexis, and Maya. Fred is also survived by his sister Lynne, and sister-in-law Brenda, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Fred was predeceased by his parents, Fred and Dorothy Kirkham, and his brother David Kirkham.

Fred was born in Yorkton, Saskatchewan on October 25, 1946. He lived throughout Western Canada as a youth. and eventually settled in Calgary. Fred graduated from the University of Calgary with a Bachelor of Science in 1969 and subsequently earned his Professional Engineering designation. He had a rewarding career as a Petroleum Engineer which saw him travel both locally and internationally.

A Gathering will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Fish Creek Hospitality Centre, 14441 Bannister Road SE, Calgary, AB) on Friday, September 1, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home.
