Obituary of Boyd Francis Curley

February 9, 1939 – Freetown, Prince Edward Island

September 1, 2023 - Calgary, Alberta

With great sadness we announce the sudden passing of Boyd Curley on Friday September 1, 2023, at the age of 84 years.

Boyd was born in Freetown, PEI on February 9, 1939, and grew up on a mixed farm. After making his way out west to Calgary, AB with his wife Lorna in 1961, he had a very successful career in the automobile industry. He won several awards over the years, including Canada’s top Chrysler salesman.  He was passionate about cars and extremely knowledgeable about all makes and models. He was always up to date on the latest news story and kept his family alerted to any pending hailstorm or upcoming gas price increase. Boyd loved Sunday dinner with his family, followed by an epic card game of Auction.

Boyd is survived by his wife Lorna, son Ken (Liz Morrison) and his daughters Kimberly and Jennifer (Tadd McGuffin); son Dale (Jan Doerksen) and his daughters Allison and Sarah; daughter Lynn Summers and her children Julia and Isaac; sister-in-law Irma and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents Walter and Elizabeth Curley, sister Wanda and brother-in-law Fenner Stewart, brother Pat, and son-in-law Brandt Summers.

Rest in Peace. We will miss you.

A private family Mass will be held at a later date.
