Reception
Condolences
To Jamie, Rob & Stephanie: It has just come to my attention that Sheila passed away in September of this year, and I want to offer my sincere condolences. You may not remember me, as it has been since you were very young that we last saw each other. I am a distance cousin of Frank's; we shared a common Great Grand-mother. Frank and I got to know each other when we both lived in Vancouver. and kept in touch over the years. I was very fond of Sheila and enjoyed spending time with her, mainly playing bridge. She and Frank were very good to my parents, Sid and Jeanette Huckvale, in Vancouver. I spent time in Scotland with Lorna, Eric and Richard in 1965 who were very hospitable to me. We also spent time together in Hawaii when Sheila, Frank, my late husband, Ron Rickards, and I were on holiday. I know you will have fond memories of your Mother, too.
Yours sinceely, Alexandra (Alex) Huckvale Rickards
To Rob and Jamie,
My deepest sympathies. I am so sorry for your loss. She was an amazing, caring and kind person. Now only time divides us.
Spoczywaj z Bogem, Sheila.
Shiela, no matter where you go, you will always be in my heart. I'm thankful for our time together. I miss you and uo I’ll always be in my heart.

To Jamie, Rob, Norman and Stephanie: We were so sorry to hear of Sheila's passing and unfortunately I will not be able to attend the gathering on Friday evening. I am having cataract surgery on both eyes on Thursday afternoon so will not be able to travel.
I have many wonderful memories of my playing bridge days with Sheila and of our many trips to Penticton to the bridge tournament in June of each year. Yes we did drink a little wine and we also had great food prepared by each of us to enjoy in our spare moments not playing bridge. We had many happy times with lots of laughter and good cards with good friends. I was also fortunate to travel to the "lake" with Sheila several times after the tournament and stay with Frank and Sheila on my way back to Alberta. They were great hosts. Recently Stephanie had a few of us to the house for lunch and we were able to see how well Sheila was being cared for and have a chance to catch up. She was a lovely, gracious lady and we were all privileged to know her and be called her friend.
Have a glass of wine for me on Friday night. I will be thinking of you all.
