Obituary of Jody Scott Reason
June 16, 1960 - September 6, 2023
Jody passed away suddenly at home at the age of 63 on September 6, 2023 with his partner in life of nearly 18 years Amanda Reason by his side. Jody was predeceased by his father William Reason and is survived by his mother Helen Reason (nee Rogus) of Montreal; his cherished children David, Chrissy, Mackenna, Aidan and Carson; his loving dog Finley; brother Terry Reason (Lise Beland) of London; brothers in-law Patrick Boyle (Jacqueline) and Christopher Boyle (Stephanie); his niece Kensi Boyle (who he loved to tease); and nephews Travis Reason, John Reason, Owen Boyle, Wyatt Boyle and Ryan Boyle.
Most recently Jody had been residing in Alberta Canada after move number 5 with Petro-Canada Suncor - a part of Canada where he had never lived. Jody retired in July after 39 years with Petro-Canada Suncor and was planning the next chapter of his story with his wife and kids which included travel, a big move back home to Ontario, more cottage time and most of all spending more time being near family and friends.
Jody had a passion for anything food related - cooking, spices, rubs and of course cooking gadgets and he LOVED his barbecues and smoker.
Jody enjoyed golfing, especially his bucket list trip to St. Andrews and spending time with his wife Amanda sipping a good glass of wine. Jody’s “happy place” was on Lake Muskosung at the family cottage fishing, spending time with friends, watching sunsets and music around the campfire.
A celebration of life will be held in Burlington Ontario at Grace United Church, 2111 Walkers Line on October 28th at 2:00p.m. Condolences, memories and photos can also be shared and viewed here.
In living memory of Jody Reason, a tree will be planted in the Ann & Sandy Cross Conservation Area by McInnis & Holloway Funeral Homes, Cochrane, 369 Railway Street, Cochrane, AB T4C 2E2, Telephone: 403-932-4740.
