Obituary of Concetta Serpico

Concetta Serpico (nee Sommese) of Calgary, AB, passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at the age of 89 years.

Concetta was born in Saviano, Italy on February 3, 1934. She emigrated from Italy on August 3, 1968, and married Giuseppe Serpico on August 17, 1968.

She was a homemaker, who enjoyed cooking, gardening, and raising her children and grandchildren.  Concetta loved spoiling her grandchildren and spending time with them. Concetta was a kind and loving mother, always supporting her children in any way she could. She will remain forever in our hearts. Concetta’s most memorable vacation were the ones she spent with her family in Mexico.

Concetta is survived by her sons Joe Jr. (Charlene), Jerry (Nadine); and daughters Mary (Dan), and Maggie (Abid); four grandchildren, Damian, Chase, Skyla, and Carson of Calgary, AB. Concetta is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Concetta was predeceased by Giuseppe, her parents, and sisters.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Mary, Mother of the Redeemer Parish (1714 – 14th Avenue N.E., Calgary, AB) on Tuesday, September 19, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. An Entombment Service to follow at Queen's Park Mausoleum.
