Condolences
My thoughts are will you all. She was a true gem! We met on a yoga retreat to Costa Rica. Some airline mis-adventures bound us in a true friendship! My breakfast buddy! She loved to talk about her family! Loved the stories and loved her! I am truly grateful to have had her in my life.
OH My.....This makes me so very sad....I worked with Fran at WW and she was such an inspiration to me for personal growth....the universe is blessed to have her and our lives are a little empty without her.
Such sad news. I too met Fran through WW. She was such an inspiration. She always dressed up for the holidays. We went for walks down by the river and talked about family and life. She was so proud of her family. We lost contact during COVID and unfortunately did not reconnect. Fran you will be missed.
So sorry to hear about your Mom! My condolences to all her family. Have known Fran for years, Allan played hockey with my son Jim when they were teenagers. We have remained friends over the years, mostly on social media but in contact. Will miss her wonderful Facebook pictures of family, flowers and her activities. Hugs to all!
I absolutely loved Fran. We were more than WW friends. Our walks were often long and thoughtful. I had the pleasure of being treated to dinner several times where Barry would spoil us. I’m so very sorry for your loss.
Wow, she will be missed.
Fran and I first met when we were both WW clients. Seems like 1 million years ago. Then she progressed to being a leader, so of course I had to go to her sessions. We had so much fun. At one of our sessions, she introduced us all to Jamie, her therapeutic yoga instructor. After that many of us joined yoga and continue to share and that experience with Fran. There was more laughing and joking I think at some classes, then there was therapy. Through our yoga classes Fran and I went on a retreat to Costa Rica. Many travel adventures/mishaps Ensued, but those memories along with all the challenges I will cherish always
Thanks Fran for being a friend, leader, travel, companion, and someone that I aspire to live my life like. My condolences to the family, she always spoke of her family, with the highest regard and love in her eyes.
I am so sorry and shocked to hear of Fran’s passing. I met her at WW and she was a wonderful leader. She made the meetings fun and interesting. She would brighten up the meetings by dressing for the occasions,, Christmas, St. Patty’s day, Easter, etc. I remember the day when she came in and Said “ Good Morning” and a bunch of us stood up and said, Good Morning Mrs. Carlson! The look on her face was priceless! She also got me to go to Yoga but that didn’t last long as we moved out of the city.
Although I never saw her after we moved, I loved to see her posts on FB. I will never forget you, Fran. Condolances to the family.

Fran and I first got acquainted when we were paired together as Weight Watchers facilitators. We shared our lives during that time and grew closer each week. We had so many laughs, us two Germans. After we finished at WW, we remained friends and went for many walks along the river with my dog. I had to huff and puff to keep up with her, and I am the younger of the two! She was a bundle of joyous energy. She introduced me to Jamie and therapeutic yoga, truly a blessing. We often talked about our children, grandchildren and beyond. She was so proud of all of you. Barry, you were her rock and true partner. I will miss her dearly. Rest easy, my friend.
Our families grew up 1/2 Mile apart on “Hammel Avenue”. We rode the school bus together and were very close. After High School we kind of drifted apart until we moved to Calgary and reconnected. It was always obvious Fran had a very close relationship with her children. She loved you all very much. A year ago she hosted a Pot Luck Cousins Lunch. We enjoyed many memories and many laughs about growing up together. We all promised to get together again, but somehow we didn’t. Life can get busy.
My very sincere sympathies to all of you. I will keep Fran in my heart forever. Love Hugs and Prayers.
