September 17, 2023 - Morley, Alberta

It’s with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved warrior, son, brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend. Theinen Holloway, was called home by our Creator on Sunday September 17th, 2023, at the age of 15 years.

Theinen was a boy filled with so much happiness and joy despite any circumstance. As a young boy he provided for his family and cared for each and every one of them. Theinen had a contagious smile that lit up any room he was in. From the moment he woke up to when he fell asleep Theinen always had music playing, this was one of his comforts. His favourites were powwow and round dance songs. Theinen was a very kindhearted boy, but he did not like being woken up in the morning or from a nap. Once you woke him up there was no end to the sounds of disappointment and anger throughout the whole day.

He was funny in his own way and liked teasing his family, especially his sister Melika. Theinen was a warrior even before he was one year old. He fought many battles against his health issues and overcame them. Despite any condition he was in, Theinen always had a positively pure attitude and a smile to greet whomever. From all the battles he fought came a protector that was said to always watch over him and help him through things. A medicine man said Theinen was gifted with a buffalo as his guardian, and spirit animal at the age of three months old. Later on, he was given his name, Mnōgâh Wêchânā.
