Condolences
Rod and family. I was so saddened to hear of Judy’s passing and did not know of her illness. I have fond and funny memories of her from when you lived on Knowles Avenue with us. One particular belly laugh she gave me was when she confessed, some years later, that she told a fellow neighbor who she had spilled a drink on at a block party that she was “Karen McFarlane” when he angrily asked who she was. She told me she had felt so guilty about it and wanted to clear her conscience. Needless to say, I laughed and laughed. He never searched me out after the fact. I loved her smile and gentleness. My sincerest condolences to you all. I hope she was gentled into whatever comes next and is now surrounded by light and love. Karen
Dear Rod and family,
Our deepest sympathy to all the family. I first met Judy in 1967 when we started our training to be laboratory technologists. We have remained friends all these years. She was a hardworking, delightful, bubbly lady. She was a dedicated laboratory technologist that worked in many different departments as she always wanted to learn something new. In later years, I loved the conversations we had together over supper after work. We had so many good times together with Judy and Rod and other mutual friends. She will remain forever in our hearts.

To Darcy and the entire Christensen family.
I am so sorry to hear of Mrs. C’s passing. I have so many great memories of Mrs. C. The one that stands out the most to me was when at our high school graduation party, I asked Mrs.C to dance as I knew she liked to dance.
As soon as we were on the dance floor, the song “Strokin’” by Clarance Cater came on and I was mortified. If you know the song, you will know what I mean.
Darcy and all of our friends were laughing at me. As I tried to leave the dance floor, Mrs. C wouldn’t let me leave. Not a large person in stature, her grip on my arm was like that of Superman!
We danced the entire song and a few more after. A great time.
Like the other parents in our group of friends, Mrs, C treated all of us like her own. She let us have fun but kept us in line.
Mrs. C was a special lady who will be greatly missed. She did however leave a lasting legacy. Thank you for being you Mrs. C, you helped me be a better person.
There are no words to express what a dear special friend Judy was to us. Since we met through Mobil Oil in Swift Current 47 years ago, we have traveled near and far together from camping at Cypress Hills to cruising the Mediterranean. We've attended each other's family celebrations. We love you like family. Lyle and Pat

So sorry to hear of Judy's passing. Sending along our deepest sympathy to all of you. Judy was a very special friend to us and we thoroughly enjoyed all the times we spent together; from Oiler hockey games; Oldtimer functions; to social events; to evenings out for supper. You guys were such gracious hosts for the fun times we had at you cabin in Radium - tubing down the river, golf games and the delicious meals as well. We'll never forget Judy's rice pudding which we just inhaled. She was such a friendly lady; always smiling and a great volunteer as well. She is now free from all pain and suffering; rest in peace Judy. Our thoughts and prayers are with you Rod and family as you go through some difficult days ahead.

The Christensen and Duncan friendship.
Our friendship with the Christensen’s started when I met Judy at the Bridge Table in 1988. The first time I met Rod was when he walked thru the kitchen with the boys after a hockey game. I took one look at Roddy (as Judy called him) and “OMG, is that Rob Lowe” in Judy’s kitchen?
My little cupcake was my bestie. (I gave Judy the nickname of “Cupcake” from the show Everwood.)
Cupcake and I had fun shopping together, playing bridge, sharing our shoes in Barcelona, driving around in “Teddy” and our Friday afternoon movies.
The four of us had a great time golfing in Arizona and Spain, looking after each others pups as well as fun weekends in Radium and Fairmont.
Life without our Cupcake won’t be the same, we have our memories, our hearts to repair and Allen and I send you our love and want you to know we are thinking of you all at this tender time. It will be very hard for you all for a long time, but remember the smiles and laughter, cherish the moments you had and find comfort in your many memories.
Thank you cupcake for having me in your life. Until we meet again, “Frosty”
My memories of Judy go way way back to when I first came to Calgary to start my medical lab training. I was a farm girl from a small town who met this bubbly little blonde girl who would befriend me and help me find my way in the big city.we became lifelong friends who shared all of our life journeys with it’s sad time and happy time, joys and sorrows. She was always there to listen and share her wisdom. Gord and I had many great times with her and Rod! She is already greatly missed. Our thoughts and wishes go out to her family hoping they can remember what a wonderful person she was.
