Stephen Brooks

Obituary of Stephen Robert Anthony Brooks

January 7, 1982 – Calgary, Alberta

September 21, 2023 – Calgary, Alberta

It is with an enormously heavy heart the Brooks family announces the loss of their Son, Brother, Husband to be, Uncle, Cousin, and friend, Stephen Robert Anthony Brooks on Thursday, September 21, 2023.

Born the last of five children to Marilyn and Keith Sr, he was the only child that was a native Calgarian.  Brother to Keith (Dana), Nancy (Bob), Kare, and Mandy (Sean) and was recently engaged to be married to the love of his life Jena.  Steve was the beloved uncle to many nieces and nephews, and many that considered him to be.  Steve was predeceased by his father Keith Sr.

Steve grew up in Calgary playing as a Goalie in hockey and lacrosse (credit to Mom who yelled during the writing of this: “With several shutouts to his name!”)  A NAIT graduate, he pursued and was selected by Enmax, for the role of Power Lineman.  A job he excelled at and was very proud to hold.  He lovingly and loyally served in the City of Calgary for 23 years in that role.  A lifelong animal lover, he was the proud Father to Daisy and Silly, the latter of whom he rescued from the Enmax lot.

His sudden loss is a shock to us all and we will forever miss his laugh, heart, and humour.

“Take your time … Don’t live too fast, troubles will come, and they will pass.  Go find a woman and you’ll find love, and don’t forget son, there is someone up above.”
