September 30, 2023 – Calgary, Alberta

Randall "Randy" Dick beloved husband of Leslie Dick (nee Goodchild) of Calgary, AB, passed away at home on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at the age of 76 years, after a courageous battle with ALS.

Randy was a devoted husband, a loving father, cherished grandfather, and loyal friend. He leaves behind a legacy of strength and love that will be fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Randy was born in Dauphin, Manitoba on January 21, 1947. In his youth he enjoyed playing baseball and hockey, and spending time at the family cottage on Clear Lake. Randy and Leslie married in 1971. After a ski trip in 1977 to Lake Louise with his brothers, Randy fell in love with the Rocky Mountains and decided that was where he wanted to raise his three daughters. They moved to Calgary in 1978 and settled on an acreage where they operated their home exterior business for 35 years. A successful and respected businessman in his trade, he worked honestly and tirelessly until he retired at 57.

Randy was a true outdoorsman. Hunting, camping, skiing, riding his motorcycle and working in the yard were a few examples of how he enjoyed his time outdoors. He made countless road trips, often towing their Airstream east, west and south as far as Mexico.

Randy’s family held a special place in his heart. Besides his loving wife, Randy is survived by his daughters Shannon (Sean), Krista (John) and Jacquie (Kelly), stepson Michael (Karen); and his grandchildren who brought him much joy. Randy is also survived by his brother Brad (Judy), sister Janis and their families. Randy was predeceased by his beloved brother Brent, and parents Jean and Ormond Dick.

Anyone who knew him loved him and would have many stories to share of their time together. He was a man of strength, character, generosity and integrity. He lived life to it’s fullest.

As per Randall’s wishes a private celebration of life will later be held.
