Obituary of Marie Hibbard

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Marie Hibbard (nee Reiniger), beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Marie left us suddenly on September 22, 2023, in Calgary, AB, at the age of 74 years, surrounded by her loving family.
Marie is survived by her husband Tony Tonhauser; children, Tina (Rick) and Derek (Lorena) and her stepchildren, Amber and Ryan (Najmeh); her grandchildren, who were the true lights of her life, Olivia and Alexander Lalonde, Owen and Isabella Hibbard, and Hilda and Aiden Tonhauser; her siblings, Don (Anne), Gerry (Janet), Ted (Lorette), Maureen (Pat) and Jackie (Dennis) as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Tony and Dorothy Reiniger, brother Dave Reiniger and her beloved puppy Teddy.
Marie was a remarkable woman known for her warm heart, caring and unwavering kindness. Her nurturing spirit was a source of strength for her family and friends, and she dedicated her life to ensuring the happiness and well-being of those she loved. Marie's laughter was infectious, and her smile could light up any room. Her love knew no bounds, and her memory will forever be engraved in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Marie was a dedicated mother; her devotion to her children was unparalleled, and she leaves behind an incredible legacy of love, resilience, and unwavering support. She was an incredibly proud grandmother who cherished every moment spent with her grandchildren, imparting wisdom and creating lasting memories.
Marie's passing leaves a void in our lives that can never be filled, but her memory will live on through the stories we share, the love we continue to give, and the kindness we extend to others. Her legacy will forever be a testament to the power of love, family, and community.
Marie Hibbard's passing leaves an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will forever be remembered for her boundless love, infectious laughter, and unwavering kindness. As we mourn her loss, we also celebrate the beautiful life she lived and the countless lives she touched.
May she rest in eternal peace, forever in our hearts.
A memorial service to celebrate Marie’s life will be held at the Holy Spirit Catholic Church (10827 24 St SW, Calgary, AB) on Friday, September 29, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow at the Church from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed with Marie’s family here.
