Obituary of Linda Masuch

Linda Masuch of Calgary, AB, passed away on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at the age of 78 years.

Linda will be remembered as a devoted wife to her best friend and husband Dave. She loved her two sons Brent and Danny with all her heart and dedicated her life to family. She was a furious reader and enjoyed her Bonavista Estate II extended family and Happy Hour.

She and Dave moved numerous times during their life. Ending up in Calgary in the year 1999; living close to her sister Judy and her sister-in-law Midge Mitchell. These last 24 years were her best times. She had so much fun living in Calgary. Linda graduated high school in Rimbey, AB and married Dave soon after. She would often describe him as the love of her life. Linda married Dave in 1964 in Rimbey and they first lived in Wetaskiwin where Brent was born. Danny came along four years later, born in 1968 in Rocky Mountain House.

Linda and Dave camped every weekend during the warmer months of the year. Both had a passion for fishing and the outdoors. Linda’s organizational skills were second to none and her calendar was always full planning her next trip. Her camping trip to Alaska with Dave and his parents was the best trip she ever took. She will be most remembered for enjoying shopping, playing cards, reading books, cooking, bowling, golfing, camping, organizing, and loving her husband until she passed away. She received immense joy spending time with her family, particularly her sons, and would glow in their presence.

Linda is survived by her two sons. Brent Masuch (Maria) from Mission, BC, and Danny Masuch (Joyce) from Gibbons, AB. She had four grandchildren: Courtney and Breanne (the twins), Rachel and Reid, all of Mission, BC

Linda is also survived by her sister Judy who kept a watchful eye over her after Dave passed away. Linda is survived by Gerald Masuch, Midge Mitchell, Roy Mitchell, Jean and Bill Foster, and Shirley Littmann. Linda was predeceased by David.

Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road SE, Calgary, AB) on Wednesday October 4, 2023, at 2:30 p.m. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed with Linda’s family here.
