Obituary of David Peter Cross

August 21, 1957 – Toronto, Ontario

September 29, 2023 – Calgary, Alberta

David Cross, beloved husband of Sherry Cross, of Calgary, AB, passed away on Friday, September 29, 2023, at the age of 66 years.

David was born in Toronto, ON on August 21, 1957, to Peter and Cecilia Cross. He worked at Canada Post for thirty years. He enjoyed watching NFL Football, especially his Dallas Cowboys. He enjoyed gardening, walks with his wife and Charlie, golfing, and spending time with his family.

David accomplished much through his life and was particularly proud of the family he created; marrying the love of his life, the birth of his children, watching his children grow into the amazing people they have become, and getting married themselves, and becoming a grandfather.

He loved to travel, he enjoyed going to Vegas, going to see family in PEI, and the many trips with the family to Blind Bay, BC. He loved the trip to Hawaii to see his nephew get married and the trips to Borrego.  

David will be most remembered for being the kindest, most generous man with a beautiful smile.

Besides his loving wife, David is survived by his son and daughter-in-law Travis and Kaytlan Cross of Calgary, daughter, and son-in-law, Jessie Cross-Zupansky and Matthew Zupansky of Calgary, grandchildren, Quinn Cross, and second grandchild due in November 2023. He is also survived by his brother and sister-in-law Michael and Barbara Cross, sister and brother-in-law Janet and Ted Brown, mother-in-law Jean Wood, and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law and his dog Charlie.

David was predeceased by his mother, Cecilia Cross, father, Peter Cross, father-in-law Kenneth Wood, nephew Justin Jennings and his dog Annie.

Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at McInnis & Holloway (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road SE, Calgary, AB) on Friday, October 6, 2023, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed with David’s family here.

The family wishes to thank all their supportive friends and family, as well as the staff in the ICU at the Rockyview General Hospital.
