Obituary of Magnus Amabilis

March 31, 2004 - Calgary, Alberta

September 30, 2023 - Calgary, Alberta

Magnus Amabilis, born on March 31st, 2004, right here in Calgary, AB, a bright light that entered our lives at the tender age of two. On Saturday, September 30th, 2023, in the same city he called home, Magnus left us at the age of nineteen. He may be gone, but the memories we shared with him will forever light up our hearts.

Magnus was more than just a young man; he was a gifted artist who poured his heart into his music. He wrote, composed, and performed his own songs, and many of them were love letters to his family. But that's not all; he had a special place in his heart for Mexico. In 2018, he spent a whole summer in Playa del Carmen with his uncle Beto, an experience that he cherished deeply.

Magnus was not just an artist; he was the beloved brother of Gus, Gianna, and Mila, the son of Gustavo and Monica, and the grandchild of Lupita and Alberto. He now joins his great-grandmother Esther (Abue) and his grandparents Hernan and Maria de Jesus in a peaceful rest.

To our family, friends and all the caregivers that worked with us throughout his life, we want to express our deepest gratitude for the love and support you've given us. Magnus's life was made richer by the presence of each and every one of you. A wise friend once said, "Love couldn't keep him here, but it was enough to let him go peacefully." Magnus will always be remembered for his infectious sense of humor, his ability to make us laugh, and the love he had for his family.

In the hearts of all who knew him, Magnus's memory will forever be a bright and beautiful melody, a reminder of the love, creativity, and laughter he brought into our lives. Though he may be gone, his spirit will continue to inspire us as we carry his legacy forward.

Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Crowfoot, 82 Crowfoot Circle NW, Calgary, AB), on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home where we'll come together to honor the memories, we've shared with him.
