My sincerest condolences to the entire Gray family on the loss of your Dad. I will always remember his warm and friendly personality and his very strong handshake! He was such a wonderful friend to my Dad and will be sorely missed.

In August, the Gray family had a family reunion. As we had cousins, which were the Bilton branch of the Gray family, we joined them at the reunion. Even though Sue & I were not part of the Gray family, we were so warmly welcomed to it.
What will be remembered by Sue and I from this reunion, was how Mel went around and welcomed everyone present that day. He spent extra time with each family member, to compliment them on their achievements and to state how proud he was of each of them. This kind gesture he gave to family members, would have given such a feeling of pride.
It will be this kind gesture to family that we will remember.
My condolences to the Gray family, Mr. Gray was one of the greatest customers I ever had the pleasure to work for.

I have many fond memories, as an 18 year old girl, hanging out at your house with both your parents demonstrating an amazing amount of patience at all the teenagers that were constantly about. When I think about my Uncle Mel, I think about he made myself and now my family always feel valued. He always had time to ask what was happening in your life and show you how much he cared by asking questions and taking the time to have a conversation with you. I think Uncle Mel’s presence can be somewhat intimidating the first time you meet him but he always made you feel at home. I think the impact that Uncle Mel had on me can be summed up with the quote by Maya Angelou “I’ve learned that people will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” Leigh Bretzlaff
Sincere condolences to the Gray family. I was a Longeway and grew up knowing the family. My Mom & Dad were good friends of Mel;s parents. Thinking of the good times we had.
