Opal Doleman

Obituary of Opal Rosella Doleman

Opal Doleman (nee Naylor) of Calgary, AB, passed away on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at the age of 71 years after a short battle with cancer.

Opal was born in Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada on December 14, 1951.

We are very saddened by losing our mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. This leaves a big hole in the hearts of those who knew her best. Her laugh was contagious, her smile was kind, and her eyes were bright. She was a hard-working, dedicated payroll professional until her retirement in 2017-2018 where she worked as a Payroll & Administration Manager for Critical Control Energy Services. After retirement, she enjoyed the sun in her backyard, her grandchildren, visiting with friends and family, her beloved animals, crossword puzzles, brain teaser games, and reading and catching up on movies and shows. She will forever be in our thoughts and prayers.

Opal is survived by her two sons, Jason Doleman and Aaron Doleman; daughter-in-law Courtney Doleman (nee Wall), and three grandchildren, Kaleb, Joey, and Summer Doleman of Calgary, AB. Opal is also survived by her older brother, John Naylor, and sister-in-law Iris-Dawn Naylor, of Calgary, AB, younger sister Cindy White, and brother-in-law Ken Martin, of Penticton, BC; uncle Jim Smith and Aunt Greta Smith of Calgary (to which she considered her second mother and father); her cousin Cheryl (Clark) Taylor of Strathmore (to which she considered a second sister), two nieces, Melanie daughter of John and Iris-Dawn and Cherise daughter of Cindy, two nephews, Allan son of John and Iris-Dawn and Weston son of Cindy, in addition to many cousins, and friends.

Opal was predeceased by her father Tom Naylor in 1983 and her mother Alma Naylor (Torgerson) in 2007.
