Obituary of Catherine Margaret Cantwell

April 22, 1945 – St. John’s, Newfoundland

October 5, 2023 – Calgary, Alberta

Catherine Margaret Cantwell (nee Murphy), of Calgary, AB, passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at the age of 78 years, after a lengthy illness at The Southwood Care Centre in Calgary, AB.  Catherine is predeceased by her husband Noel “Nick” Cantwell, her sister Geraldine Hambly, brothers Peter, Lawrence, and John. 

Left with fond and loving memories are her sons Les and Noel (Tammy Moores), and her daughter Tracy (Andrew Fisher); grandchildren Ellen, and Kate Fisher, Thomas, and Erin Cantwell, Sophie Cantwell, and her brother Robert (Kay) Murphy. Also leaving to mourn, sister-in-law Judi Cowan (Kirk), brothers-in-law Brian Cantwell, Les Cantwell (Brenda), Robert Cantwell (Carol), and sister-in-law Ruth Murphy. Catherine had a large circle of friends and family who will cherish her memory.

Catherine loved her garden, enjoyed a long walk, browsing the shops, afternoons at the pool in Florida, golfing with her friends, and spending time with her grandkids.

We would like to express our gratitude to the staff at Southwood Care Centre for their kindness, support, and compassionate care.

As per Catherine’s request cremation will take place. A private family service will be held in the future.
