Marlin was blessed with many great-uncles and aunts. He is also survived by the Medicine Traveller/Red Crow, Running Rabbit, Young families and many, many family loved ones.

He made his Cursillo and Pilgrimages here in Siksika. He was a physically strong athlete and enjoyed playing hockey. Marlin also loved and excelled in Rodeo, Riding Steers and Bull riding, not to mention, he was an excellent horseman & ranch hand. Marlin tried Bareback and he said, “it’s not for this Cowboy.” He would accompany his family to hockey games and many Rodeos, in addition to his favorite past time, Golf. He would instruct better & simpler ways to do things just to help Dad, his best friend. He also assisted in chores and things around the family ranch. Marlin enjoyed that precious time, when he would be alone spending time with his Dad and Brother Buddy. He also taught his nephew Quincy a few tips in bull riding. Before he would go home, he would go shopping in Mom’s cupboards. When he was done, Marlin would say “Mom, what time do you open tomorrow?”

Marlin was close with all his cousins and addressed them as Brothers/Sisters. He was close to his Aunties Sharon Sitting Eagle and Rita Running Rabbit. We mustn’t forget his dog Kayos, Major, and his neighbor dog friend Riley.

Marlin’s lifestyle changed with his addictions in the last few years that was hard for his family to accept. He was a strong believer in God and always told his Mom and Dad, “I’ll be okay, don’t worry about me, just have a Red one for me.” He always expressed his love to his parents, brother, sisters, sister-in-law and brothers-in-law.

Marlin was loved by so many because of his kind, gentle, friendly and loving ways.

The family apologizes if there are any names we may have missed. The family would like to thank Chief and Council, Siksika EMS, Gleichen RCMP and everyone who has kept the family in prayer, the many donations and financial support during this difficult time.
