Obituary of Frederick Edward Martinez
January 2, 1983 – Washington, DC, USA
January 20, 2024 – Calgary, Alberta
Frederick Edward Martinez Antequera passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at the age of 41 years, after losing a battle with cancer. He was born on January 2, 1983, in Washington, DC, to Felipe Martinez and Gladys Antequera.
In 2004, with the support of his mother, brother, and sister, Frederick finished his degree in Electronic Engineering, and he always demonstrated outstanding professional performance. Frederick achieved his Professional Engineering in the province of Alberta in 2013.
In December 2008, he married his longtime friend and love, Mayra Torrealba. In May 2009, Frederick became a father for the first time (Sebastian), in January 2011 for the second time (Frederick), and for the third time in July 2017 (Santiago). Frederick was an exceptional husband and father who always provided love and support to his wife and kids, the same way that he did with his mother, brother, sister-in-law, and sister.
Frederick loved to spend time with his family and enjoyed outdoor activities. His passion for camping, hiking, and fishing was the reason why the family ended up purchasing a trailer to travel throughout Canada, creating lovely memories with friends, who then became family.
Besides his loving wife Mayra, Frederick is survived by his three sons, Sebastian, Frederick, and Santiago; parents, Gladys and Felipe; his brother Daniel and sister-in-law Ana; his sister Angie, five nephews, Moises, Miguel, Angel, Matias, and Tobias; father-in-law Ramon, mother-in-law Mirella, and brother-in-law Juan Manuel; all whom he loved and touched deeply.
Frederick was loved by many people besides his family, and that helped him to exceed the battle expectations.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Ascension Catholic Church (1100 Berkshire Boulevard N.W., Calgary, AB) on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at 2:30 p.m. Reception to follow in the Parish Hall at the Church.
