Thais Guirigay de Sanguinetti, beloved wife of Rafael Sanguinetti, passed away on Friday, October 6, 2023 at the age of 52.

 

She was born in Cabimas, Venezuela on July 30, 1971 and emigrated to Canada in 2009, she has since lived in Calgary, Alberta, where she graduated in Geophysics from the University of Calgary, to complement her studies in Venezuela and the United States.

 

She achieved much throughout her life academically and professionally and was particularly proud of it, but nothing compared to being a mother, sister, daughter, wife, and friend.

 

Thais married Rafael in 1998 with whom she had two sons, Rafael David and Daniel Roberto, who currently reside in Calgary.

 

Thais will also be particularly remembered by her parents Carmen and Rafael, her siblings Tamara, Tania and Rafael Alberto, her brothers and sisters-in-law Álvaro, Jaime, Adriana, Andreina, Jose Juan, Ada, Antonio, Igor and Militza, her mother-in-law Ada and her nephews Paula, Adriana, Antonio, Sebastián, Pablo and Guillermo, who always supported her from Venezuela, Spain, the United States and Mexico.

 

Thais was passionate about helping people, always concerned about the well-being of all, she loved promoting Venezuelan culture, traveling and especially watching her children grow up, sharing experiences with family and friends. She also enjoyed long conversations, cooking, and loved trips where she could share with her family and nature, especially Mexico and Yellowstone.

 

She will be remembered for her loving kindness, determination, humility, charm, never give up mentality and the love of her family. Even during her later years, she volunteered for scientific research, so she could also help find the cure for cancer.

 

Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Calgary Crematorium, 3219 – 4th Street NW, Calgary, AB, within the valley of Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Friday, October 13, 2023 at 3:00 p.m. with a visitation prior to starting at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home. Thais Guirigay de Sanguinetti, amada esposa de Rafael Sanguinetti, falleció el viernes 6 de octubre de 2023 a la edad de 52 años.

 

Nació en Cabimas, Venezuela el 30 de julio de 1971 y emigró a Canadá en 2009, desde entonces vivió en Calgary, Alberta, dónde se graduó en Geofísica en la Universidad de Calgary, para complementar sus estudios en Venezuela y Estados Unidos.

 

Logró mucho a lo largo de su vida en lo académico y profesional y estaba particularmente orgullosa de ello, pero nada comparado con ser madre, hermana, hija, esposa y amiga.

 

Thais contrajo nupcias con Rafael en 1998 con quien tuvo dos hijos, Rafael David y Daniel Roberto, quienes residen actualmente en Calgary.

 

A Thais también la extrañarán en especial sus padres Carmen y Rafael, sus hermanos Tamara, Tania y Rafael Alberto, sus cuñados Álvaro y Jaime, Adriana, Andreina, Jose Juan y Ada, los concuñados Antonio, Igor y Militza, su suegra Ada y sus sobrinos Paula, Adriana, Antonio, Sebastián, Pablo y Guillermo, quienes siempre la apoyaron desde Venezuela, España, Estados Unidos y México.

 

A Thais le apasionaba ayudar a la gente, siempre preocupada por el bienestar de todos, le encantaba promover la cultura venezolana, viajar y en especial ver crecer a sus hijos, compartir experiencias con familiares y amigos. Disfrutaba de largas conversaciones, cocinar y amaba los viajes donde podía compartir con su familia y la naturaleza, en especial a México y a Yellowstone.

 

Ella será recordada por su bondad amorosa, determinación, humildad, encanto, mentalidad de nunca darse por vencido y el amor de su familia. Incluso durante sus últimos años, se prestó de voluntaria a la investigación científica, para poder ayudar también a encontrar la cura para el cáncer.

 

Los servicios funerarios se llevarán a cabo en McInnis & Holloway (Calgary Crematorium, 3219 – 4th Street NW, Calgary, AB, dentro del valle del cementerio Queen’s Park) el viernes 13 de octubre de 2023 a las 3:00 p.m. con un velorio previo a partir de las 14:00 horas. Recepción a continuación en el Centro de Hospitalidad de la Funeraria. Aquí también se pueden compartir y ver condolencias, recuerdos y fotografías.
