Obituary of Ronald David Leach

Ronald Leach, of Saint John, NB, passed away on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at the age of 82 in Calgary, AB after relocating there in 2019 to be closer to family.

Ronald Leach was born in Saint John, NB on December 21, 1940. He married his soulmate Sandra on October 10, 1964, and together they built a life and family.

Ronald worked for General Dairies at a young age, then Saint John City Transit where he stole Sandra’s heart. He later worked for the NB Liquor Commission from which he retired after 30 years in 1995.

He was a long-time member of Kings Church in Quispamsis, NB and volunteered within the church as well as many outreach programs and community initiatives.

Ronald accomplished much throughout his life and was particularly proud of his children, grandchildren, and giving over 100 blood donations to the Canadian Red Cross.

Ronald enjoyed time with family and friends through game nights, social events, and travel. He loved spending quality time with family, especially while camping and vacationing in Prince Edward Island.

Ronald’s most memorable vacation was when he took a cruise to Alaska and the Rocky Mountaineer train through British Columbia and Alberta with his loving wife Sandra.

He will be most remembered for his warm smile and kind words, sense of humour, selflessness, charitable works, and his welcoming nature. Above all, he believed in friends, family, and faith. His legacy will live on in those he touched.

Ronald is survived by his daughter, Andrea Bell (Dean) of Howland Ridge, NB, son Curtis Leach (Christie) of Calgary, AB, daughter-in-law Lorrie Leach of Carters Point, NB, as well as seven grandchildren, Christopher, Jennifer, Megan, Laura, Matthew, Seth, Ryker; and his two great-grandsons, Jaxon, and Wesley.

Ronald is also survived by his sister June Titus, Saint John, NB, sister-in-law Lois Leach, Fredericton, NB, sister-in-law Mary Bartlett (Mark), Hampton, NB, and sister-in-law Pat Guimond, Kennebecasis, NB, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Ronald was predeceased by his wife Sandra Leach, son Ian Leach, parents, James Leach and Edna Molasky (Snow); sister Mildred Coyle (Norman), four brothers, Frank Leach (Joyce), Gerard Leach, John Leach (Alice), James Leach (Eleanor); brother-in-law George Titus and brother-in-law Alvin Guimond.

A Memorial Service will be held on Monday October 23, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Kings Church (332 Hampton Rd, Quispamsis, NB).
