Obituary of John Henry Siferd

John (Jack) Henry Siferd, of Calgary, AB, passed away at home, after a long illness, on Saturday, October 7, 2023, at the age of 90 years.

Jack received his degree from the university of Oklahoma and had a lengthy career in the oil and gas industry as a Petroleum Engineer.  During retirement, Barb and Dad loved wintering in Arizona and had the opportunity to experience a few memorable vacations.

We celebrated his 90th birthday last month and he was thrilled to reach this milestone. He was born September 10, 1933, in Turner Valley. He is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Barbara Naden. He is also survived by four children, John (Roberta), Tony (Colleen Miller), Brent (Kathy), Cathy Mcbride (Rob); nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Jack as he preferred to be called, was predeceased by his former wife Jean Siferd (nee Pivoras), his parents Ralph and Florence, three brothers and two sisters.

His huge heart, smile, great sense of humor and gentle disposition will be greatly missed.

We will have a celebration of life for Jack at a later date.  Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed with Jack’s family here. Memorial tributes supporting cardiovascular health and research would be greatly appreciated.

In living memory of Jack Siferd, a tree will be planted in the Ann & Sandy Cross Conservation Area.
