Obituary of Albert Victor Naffin

July 6, 1943 - Drumheller, Alberta
October 10, 2023 - Calgary, Alberta

Albert Naffin beloved husband of Terry Naffin (nee Coultis) of Banff, AB, passed away on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 at the age of 80 years.

Albert was born in Drumheller, AB on July 6, 1943. He moved to Banff, AB, where he met Terry, whom he married in 1964. Albert graduated from the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology with a welding certificate and became a licensed Alberta realtor with a successful career in the Bow Valley. While in Banff, Albert was a proud member of the Banff Kinsmen Club and enjoyed curling with the Banff Curling Club. Albert accomplished much through his life and was particularly proud of the many buildings he built in Banff.

Albert had a passion for fishing on Lake Minnewanka, having operated a fish guiding business for some time, and he loved bird hunting on the Alberta prairies with his many good friends and relatives. Albert loved to travel to Hawaii and Montana (among the many other places that their Honda Goldwing and Ford Mustang convertible took them) with Terry, his family and friends. Albert was among this country's finest joke tellers and his jokes and infamous sayings will live forever in the mouths of those who had the benefit of his company.

Besides his loving wife, Albert is survived by his son Daron Naffin and his daughter-in-law Ricki Johnston of Calgary, AB; and his two grandchildren, Willem and Libby Naffin of Calgary, AB. Albert is also survived by his three sisters, Linda Charlton of Banff, AB, Hilda Doig of Burnaby, BC and Margaret Peterson of Edmonton, AB; sister-in-law, Shirley Naffin, of Banff, AB; and his brother-in-law, Gary Charlton of Banff, AB; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and good friends. Albert was predeceased by his parents, Rudolf and Klara Naffin, his sisters Frieda Utley, Irma Hooker and Lilly Skov, and his brother Harold Naffin.
