Vimla BANSAL (nee Kansal)

January 1, 1936 – October 13, 2023

Vimla Bansal of Calgary, AB, passed away on October 13, 2023 at the age of 87 years. She was born June 19, 1936 to Ram Rakhi and Ram Narain Kansal.

She is survived by her husband, Kulwant Bansal, and two daughters, Monica Chhina and Pratima Bansal. Monica is married to Harbir Chhina and lives in Calgary, AB. Pratima is married to David Michael Riley and lives in London, ON.

Vimla married Kulwant on February 20, 1958. They celebrated their 65^th anniversary together. Both of their daughters were born in India. Vimla immigrated to Calgary with her daughters in February 1966.

Vimla will be remembered as a noble soul, who cared deeply for her family and friends. She had strong values that kept her family morally grounded in all that they did. She expressed her love, even in the last few words she spoke.

Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Calgary Crematorium, 3219 – 4th Street NW, Calgary, AB, within the valley of Queen’s Park Cemetery) on Saturday, October 21, 2023 at 10 a.m. Guests are requested to arrive early as the ceremonies will commence at 10 a.m. sharp.
