Obituary of Dorothy Eleanor Rintoul

It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Dorothy Fagin -Rintoul on Sunday, October 8, 2023 at the age of 65 years, at the Calgary Foothills Hospital with her children by her side.

Dorothy loved crafting, she graduated from Bow Valley College and became a published poet and author.

Dorothy was born to Hughie and Mary Bassham Fagin, November 28, 1957, in Viking, AB. She was the oldest sister of Keith and Evelyn Fagin. She loved and appreciated her life, friends and was immensely proud of all her family.

Dorothy was married twice, first to Vince Elder, with whom she was blessed with a boy named, Patrick Rintoul-Elder-Fagin, they later divorced, and she met, and married her second husband Paul H. Rintoul. From Paul’s previous marriage she was blessed with her stepson James. Dorothy had her youngest Tammy and Mike with Paul.

Dorothy felt blessed and honoured to be survived by her blood, step, half and adopted children, James, Patrick, Tammy, Mike, Zac, Chris, Veronica, Alexis, Daymion, Keira, Sarahetta, Charlie, Sarah and Matt, and her many nieces, and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband Vince Elder, her second husband Paul H. Rintoul, and her parents, Hughie, and Mary Bassham Fagin.

For our mother’s Celebration of Life/wake she wanted a slideshow presentation, created with the help of the BOS family, and wanted all her family and friends in the slideshow with her, her daughter Tammy will narrate.
