Obituary of Janel Lea Boettger

Janel Lea Boettger (nee Milligan), of Surrey, BC, passed away suddenly on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at the age of 47 years.

Janel was born in Calgary, AB on July 15, 1976. She accomplished much through her short life and was particularly proud of owning her own health and beauty businesses. Her creativity shined through every aspect of her salon, even going as far as making her own beauty products. Her professional talents were many, and she was continually challenging herself with new ventures and skillsets.

The true love of her life though was being mother to her two beautiful daughters. She was fiercely protective of her girls and would do anything for them. Family was always very important to Janel. She loved hosting holiday gatherings and getting together with extended family. 

She was taken far too soon from us all, but she will be remembered as a strong, loyal, loving and beautiful soul.

Be strong when you are weak.

Be brave when you are scared.

Be humble when you are victorious.

Be badass everyday.

Janel is most closely survived by her daughter Jacy Boettger of Calgary, AB.

She is also survived by parents, George Milligan (Okotoks, AB) and Patricia Milligan (Blackfalds, AB); her three sisters, Julie Milligan (Singapore), Miranda Milligan (Calgary, AB) and Angela Fraser (Diamond Valley, AB); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Janel was predeceased by daughter Koralea Boettger (Stettler, AB) and her brother Jarett Milligan (Calgary, AB).
