Dorothy (Dot) Audet

Obituary of Dorothy (Dot) Lorraine Audet

1941 - 2023

Dot Audet, beloved wife of Luke Audet of Calgary, Alberta, passed away at the age of 82 on Wednesday, October 11, 2023.

Dot was born in Regina, Saskatchewan on July 28, 1941. Dot married Lucien “Luke” Audet on Sept 23, 1961.

She moved to Kamloops, BC, with her husband and their two children, Randy and Michele. Later in life, Dot and Luke moved to Calgary, Alberta.

Dot enjoyed working with senior citizens. However, after retiring, she still wanted to do something else, so she applied and got a position with the Calgary Board of Education as a Lunch Hour Supervisor. She even got her Canadian Red Cross Standard First Aid & CPR/AED Level HCP at the age of 76! She didn’t stop there, she started up her own greeting cards business. Safeway was one of her clients.

In Dot’s younger years, she and Luke loved to dance the Jive. They even won a Jive dance competition. In Kamloops, they took up downhill skiing, and golf. She also enjoyed playing cards with family and friends and doing crafts. She loved to decorate her place and most importantly during Christmas, her favorite time of year.

Dot ’s most memorable vacation was when she and Luke went to Nashville to see Elvis Presley’s home, Graceland and Mexico with her family.

Dot will be most remembered for being a compassionate, and fun loving lady. She knew how to get a party started by being the life of the party. She had a mischievous nature and wicked sense of humor with that beautiful cheeky smile of hers. She was loved for her free spirit to enjoy having fun.

Besides her loving husband, Dot is survived by her daughter, Michele Audet and son-in-law, Peter O’Donnell; son, Randy Audet and daughter-in-law, Adena; and grandchild, Tassia.

Dot is also survived by her two brothers, Andy (Arlene), Dwight (Bev), one sister, Beryl; sisters-in-law, Shirley, Yvonne, and Georgette, and brothers-in-law Mike, Armond (Lorraine) and Marcel (Audrey) as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Dot was predeceased by her father, W.D. “Red” Anderson; mother, Elsie Anderson; brothers, Jerry and Lesley; sisters, Pat, Norma, Joan, and Margaret; father-in-law Donat Audet (Blanche); and sister-in-law Diane.
