Lorne Edward Hillier passed away on Tuesday, October 10, 2023 in Calgary, AB. At the time of his passing Lorne was surrounded by his loving family.
Lorne was born on January 20, 1938 in Pincher Creek, AB to his parents Ethel and Lloyd. Dad is preceded by his parents, sisters Doreen and Thelma, brother Duane and granddaughter Carmel. Lorne is survived by his loving wife and best friend Marie, two sons, three grandsons, four granddaughters and nine great-grandchildren.
Lorne and Marie celebrated their 63rd anniversary in hospital on October 8, 2023 prior to his passing. Lorne had many lifelong hobbies and interests including golfing, fishing, hunting, spending time at the Cabin and connecting with family and friends. His love language was cooking and entertaining, many family and friends remember the five star meals at home and the Cabin. Lorne graduated from SAIT in 1957 and after graduating worked for Canadair and attended classes at McGill University. Following Canadair, he was a project manager and held many supervisory positions at ATCO. He was the lead project manager for large scale projects in several US States, Hungary, Russia and Chile and was able to take Marie to accompany him. Lorne retired from ATCO in 1999 after 33 years of service.
Lorne, dad, grandpa, great-grandpa and uncle you will be missed but not forgotten.
