Condolences
I met Don while volunteering at TMM and we were members of PROBUS. I was always impressed by his dedication, his professionalism, and always being on a learning curve. A true Canadian. Will miss him.
Don was one of my favourite volunteers at the museum. He never failed to show you a smile. I enjoyed attending lectures with him as well. I was so impressed that he was still able to take on household maintenance tasks and that he was still driving - very much an inspiration for those of us entering our later years.
I came to know Don through The Military Museums and the PROBUS Club of Calgary. His dedication to both organizations is without parallel. Condolences to his family. Rest in Peace, Sailor.
Don was our wonderful neighbor and good friend in Elbow Park. From the Grey Cup parties he and Olive and Donna held to our casual conversations and his winter snowblower forays on behalf of us all. He was a lovely gentlemen and we will miss him terribly. Our deepest held condolences to you and your family Donna. John Uren and Louise Hyndman
I am very sad to say goodbye to Don. He was a volunteer at the Naval Museum for many years, was always faithful and always on time even in his advanced age. I had many a good chat with him and was pleasantly surprised with how bright and articulate he was. He was very well educated and knowledgeable about so many things. I was also very jealous of how much hair he still had, I will always remember him and will miss him a lot. Fair winds and following seas Don. Thursdays won't be the same without you.
