Obituary of Mary Ann Healy

November 7, 1935 - Midland, Ontario

October 13, 2023 - Calgary, Alberta

Ann Healy, beloved wife of the late Kenneth Edward (Ken) Healy passed away on Friday, October 13, 2023. She is survived by her daughter Christine (Brownell), cousins and many friends.

Ann was born in Midland Ontario to her parents Thomas and Mable Moore (nee O’Neill) in 1935. Ann completed secondary school at St. Joseph’s College School (Toronto) and later graduated with her Teaching Certificate.

It was while living in Toronto that Ann met her future husband, Ken. They married in July 1963, and celebrated 59 years of marriage until Ken’s passing in 2021. Ann and Ken welcomed Christine in June 1969, and the family lived in Montreal, QC, Burlington, ON, and eventually called Calgary, AB, home in 1983.

Ann retired in 1995 after many years of being a teacher in Ontario and Quebec and later a Craft Coordinator at Father Lacombe Nursing Home in Calgary.

Ann is remembered as someone who was a devoted daughter, wife, cousin, godmother, parent, and friend. She was a self-taught artist, nature enthusiast, great friend, avid reader, pianist, choir member, community helper and for the last 40 years, an exuberant fan of the Calgary Stampede. She was also a faithful member of her Church everywhere she lived and was active in her last parish of St. Bonaventure in Calgary for many years.

Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church (1600 Acadia Drive S.E., Calgary, AB) on Friday, October 27, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.

Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church (1600 Acadia Drive S.E., Calgary, AB) on Friday, October 27, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow in the church hall. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed with Ann’s family here.
