Obituary of Richard Brian Glugosh

June 16, 1950 - Winnipeg, Manitoba

Richard “Rick” Glugosh of Calgary, AB, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at the age of 73 years.

Rick was born in Winnipeg, MB on June 16, 1950. In September of 1989 he moved to Calgary with his mom and sister to explore new opportunities.

Rick will be most remembered for his dry wit and his love of teasing all his family members to make them laugh.  In his earlier years, he loved to golf, especially when he got a chance to play with his older brothers, Garry and Kenny. Family reunions were full of laughter, shared jokes and a good game of canasta.

Rick enjoyed his career in information technology and worked for many years at the Calgary School Board.

He was truly happy after meeting the love of his life, Claire. They loved to dance, watch movies, go to the mountains and take long walks along the river in Fish Creek Park (Calgary, AB) with Claire’s sister, Polly and her husband, Calvin.

Rick is survived by his three older siblings, Kenny and his wife, Ev Glugosh of Toronto, ON; Louise Glugosh of Calgary, AB; Garry and his wife Sheri Glugosh of Winnipeg, MB, along with many nieces and nephews and Claire’s children, Paul, Sandy and Jacqueline. Rick was predeceased by the love of his life, Claire Morin, his mother, Teenie and father, Alec.

The family wishes to extend their sincerest gratitude to Dr. Ali and the dedicated staff and volunteers on Unit 94 at Rockyview Hospital for their compassionate and dedicated care of Rick in his final days.
