Obituary of Kyle Matthew Grimson

Our beloved son, Kyle Grimson of Calgary, AB, passed away suddenly on Wednesday, October 18, 2023, at the age of 37 years.

Kyle was born in Calgary, AB, Canada on August 5, 1986. Kyle accomplished much throughout his life and was particularly proud of his expertise in the construction industry, where he worked over seventeen years that brought him to some of the most beautiful places in Canada.

Kyle was most at peace in the surroundings of nature, most comforted by stringing his guitar or playing his harmonica, and most relaxed reading a book or listening to a variety of music. Kyle was also an artist and enjoyed time drawing and sketching.

His favorite quote:  Socrates “Be kind, for everyone you meet is fighting a hard battle”.

He will be most remembered for his smile, his free spirit, kind heart, unwavering love for his family, and his compassion to support organizations that worked diligently on cleaning up our oceans.

Kyle will be sadly missed by his father Kimberly Grimson and mother Sara Grimson (Ball) of Calgary, AB; two brothers, Tyler Grimson, and Lucas Sherrer, both of Calgary, AB; sister, Emily Grimson; nephews, Benjamin, Nathan and Michael of Calgary, AB; and his grandfather William Ramsay of Red Deer, AB. 

He will also be sadly missed by his uncles, Michael Ball (Barb) of Nanaimo, BC; Chad Ramsay (Stacie) of Calgary, AB; aunt Shannon Davies (Rob) of Okotoks, AB; as well as numerous cousins, and friends.

Kyle was predeceased by his grandfather, Lawrence Grimson, grandmother Emelia Ramsay; and grandparents, Alfred, and Kathleen Ball. Kyle was also predeceased by his one uncle, Ronald Grimson, and two Aunts, Susan Ball and Karen MacDonald (Ball).

Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Fish Creek, 14441 Bannister Road SE, Calgary, AB) on Monday, October 30, 2023, at 2:00 pm. A “Toast” to Kyle’s life to follow in the private room on the second floor of Dixon’s Pub, #24 15425 Bannister Road SE Calgary, AB, T2X 3E9, (403) 254-1200.  Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed with Kyle’s family here.
