Obituary of Teresa Lenora Hayes

Teresa Lenora Hayes, of Calgary, AB, passed away on Monday, October 23, 2023, at the age of 65 years. 

Teresa graduated from the Sir William Van Horne High School and Mount Royal College. She was a dedicated and passionate member of several churches: Northwinds, Emmanuel Lutheran, Mountainview, Arise & Shine and Supernatural Life Center. Teresa especially loved the bible verses 1 Corinthians 13 4:8, John 3:16 and Genesis 3:19.  

Teresa talked lovingly about the times she used to volunteer at the Colonel Belcher Seniors Center; as she loved to laugh, talk and be of comfort to the seniors. Teresa’s most memorable vacation was when she went to Ottawa with her mother Louise to visit her sister Lyallen. Teresa loved to say “ya-ya” when something gave her joy, and would finish most of her texts, phone calls, and emails by saying “Blessings”. Teresa will be most remembered for her unwavering devotion to God, her huge smile and contagious laughter. 

Teresa is survived by her two brothers Reuben Hayes and Van Hayes. She is also survived by her niece Tara Hayes, and nephew Tyrone Hayes. 

Teresa is survived by a large family which includes her aunts; Pearl Hayes, Betty Hayes, Frances Proctor, her Uncle Larry Proctor and many cousins.  Additionally, Teresa is survived by her loving church family and her many friends.

Teresa was predeceased by her sister Lyallen Hayes, brother Wayne Hayes, her two parents Louise Hayes and Reuben Hayes Jr.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Supernatural Life Center Church (Bay 16,2221 41 Ave NE, Calgary, AB) on Friday, November 3, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. Reception to follow, please bring a food item. Condolences, memories, and photos can also be shared and viewed here.
