Obituary of F. Marjorie Procter

June 24, 1929 - October 27, 2023

We are saddened to share the passing of F. Marjorie Procter (nee Lees), on Friday, October 27, 2023. She was born June 24, 1929, in Winnipeg, MB to Harold and Mabel Lees. Marjorie is survived by her loving husband of 72 years, George Procter.

Left to cherish wonderful memories of a very special mom are daughters, Wendy Steed (Bob) of Nelson, BC, and Gail Seeley (Dennis) of Stouffville, ON; and her two sons, Glenn Procter (Tracy) of Edson, AB, and Ian Procter (Tammy) of Calgary. She was also grandmother to eight boys, one granddaughter, and was blessed with ten great-grandchildren.

Marjorie’s love of music began at an early age when she was being trained on the piano to accompany her father, an accomplished soloist. Marjorie also became a soloist and sang in various church groups beginning with The Morrow group of Winnipeg. She was also involved in community choirs in Edmonton and Calgary. Marjorie went on to conduct a variety of groups and choirs which culminated in The Noteables at Altadore Church. Marjorie dreamed of travelling at an early age. George and Marjorie travelled the world visiting all seven continents including The Antarctic. Marjorie was an avid homemaker and accomplished crafter. Marjorie set high standards for herself and her family, which we will always be grateful for.

Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Marjorie’s Life will be held at Altadore Church (4304 - 16th Street SW, Calgary, AB) on Saturday, November 4, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed with Marjorie’s family here.

The family wishes to express heartfelt thanks to Dr. Agnes Thompson for her exceptional care of Marjorie over the years.
