Obituary of Mildred Evelyn Park

February 9, 1940 – Jansen, Saskatchewan

October 31, 2023 – Calgary, Alberta

Mildred Park, beloved wife of Robert “Wayne” Park, of Calgary, AB, passed away on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, at the age of 83 years.

Mildred was born in Jansen, SK on February 9, 1940. Mildred married Robert Wayne on August 19, 1961. They moved from Moose Jaw, SK to Calgary, AB in April 1969.

She was a member of the Calgary International Pin Club and volunteered with them as Treasurer until January of 2023, when major health issues became too much.

Mildred accomplished much throughout her life and was particularly proud of her role as a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

Mildred enjoyed travel and her and Wayne went on 32 cruises around the world over the last 25 years; her favorite being Alaska, which they visited five times.

Mildred also enjoyed Paint by Numbers and always had a painting on the go.

She loved spending time with her grandchildren, and she will be most remembered for her devotion to them.

Besides her loving husband, Mildred is survived by her three children, Darla Henderson (Darryl) of Calgary, Debra Campbell (David) of Airdrie, and Craig Park (Birgit) of Calgary; and six grandchildren, Brendan Fowler (Alexandra Jaco), Ryan Campbell (Lauryn Kenny), Aiden Park, Ethan Campbell, Dylan Campbell, and Annika Park. Mildred is also survived by her three brothers, Alvin Fuhrmann of Kelowna, Rubin Fuhrmann of Airdrie, and Arden Fuhrmann of Kelowna; and sister, LaVern Fuhrmann of Vancouver.

Mildred was predeceased by her parents, Henry and Ida Fuhrmann of Kelowna, BC.

Memorial Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Chapel of the Bells, 2720 Centre Street N, Calgary, AB) on Thursday, November 30, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home.
