Obituary of Edith Emilene Codd (nee Blatchford)

December 6, 1935 - Assiniboia, Saskatchewan

It is with great sadness, we announce the passing of Edith Emilene Codd (nee Blatchford) on Tuesday, October 31, 2023, with loved ones by her side at the age of 87 years.

Edith was born on December 6, 1935, in Assiniboia, SK. She was extremely loving and kind.

Edith is survived by her husband, Selby Roy Codd and their children, Terry, Rory, Robyn, and Sandra (Phil); grandchildren, Felecia, Chevonne, and Katherine; as well as great-grandson, Austin, sisters, Patsy, Bonnie, Gail, Irene, Karen, Fay, Francis, and brother, Bill.  She was predeceased by her parents, Frank and Emma Blatchford, brothers, Larry, Ken, Ray, and sisters, Maxine, and Betty.

Edith was the most selfless and loving mother ever and gave everything to her children and grandchildren.  She was a homemaker, an incredible chef, gardener, hostess, bird watcher, and an avid reader. Edith and Selby were amazing dancers, and square dancers.  She was social, cheerful, and always gave a helping hand.  She loved to travel, which later lead to becoming a snowbird, and experiencing many wonderful trips.  She enjoyed the Saddle Ridge ladies and the friendships that she made.

We will miss her love, care, kindness, and famous chocolate cake.

A celebration of Edith’s life will be held at a later date.
