June 19, 1944 -Yorkton, Saskatchewan

November 6, 2023 - Calgary, Alberta

Dianne McGrath, beloved wife of Bob McGrath, with whom she shared 58 years of marriage, passed away peacefully on Monday November 6, 2023.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Robert “Bob”, daughter Leanne (Ken), son Dean (Lisa); grandchildren Kyle, Luke, and Aleya; and her brother Dennis as the sweetest, kindest, most caring person with a heart of gold.

Dianne was born in Yorkton, Saskatchewan to Viola (Babe) and Edwin Lee. In her youth, Dianne's father was in the Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF), who’s stations had them living at various bases throughout Ontario and Quebec.

In 1963, working as a secretary for the Montreal Board of Trade, Dianne met her future husband, Bob. They were happily married on September 25, 1965 at the St. Hubert RCAF base in Montreal. From 1971-1977, Dianne worked for Innotec Aviation, where she had summers off to be with her children. This is also the time that Dianne began her lifelong love of golf at Beaconsfield Golf Club in Pointe-Claire Quebec.

In 1977 Dianne and her family decided to move to Calgary, Alberta to be close to her parents and brother. Also, that year, Dianne began her extended career as an Executive Secretary for Pacific 66, which later became Petro Canada.

She retired in 1999 at the age of 55. In 1980 Dianne and Bob acquired their family membership at Silver Springs Golf and County Club. Additionally, after retirement, they spent a total of 20 winters in Yuma, Arizona, following the warm weather and playing golf at Yuma Golf and County Club.

Dianne made friends with many amazing people on the golf course, at work, around the neighbourhood and in her crafting and bridge groups. She absolutely cherished her husband, children, and grandchildren. In her family and friends, the happy memories and laughter will live on.

A Private Memorial Service will be held at McInnis & Holloway with a Celebration of Life to follow in the Spring. Condolences, memories and photos can also be shared and viewed here. In Lieu of flowers please donate to your favourite charity in memory of Dianne McGrath.
