Obituary of Carol Jane Rothermal

Carol Jane Rothermal (nee Brandt), of Airdrie, AB, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, November 3, 2023, at the age of 71 years. Her family is deeply saddened by her sudden death.

 

Carol is survived by her mother, Ida Brandt, her husband Ross Rothermal, her children, Harlan Fowler (Shanda Sperling) and Richard Fowler (Nicole Black) and her stepdaughter Nicole Rothermal and stepson, Jason Rothermal. Her grandkids, Kiegan Rothermal, Peyton Fowler, Brandt Fowler, Connor Fowler, and Carson Rothermal. Carol was predeceased by her father, Edwin (Ed) Brandt.

 

Carol was born in Winnipeg, MB, on April 21, 1952, and raised by her two wonderful parents, Ida and Ed. Carol later married and had two sons, Richard and Harlan. Carol and her sons moved to Alberta in 1987, finally settling in Calgary in 1995 where she met her true love, her best friend, her husband: Ross Rothermal.

 

Carol and Ross were married in 2001 and purchased their forever home in Airdrie, AB in 2003. Carol was blessed with five grandchildren in her life and wore her titles of Nana and Grandma Carol proudly. Carol was a fun spirited, sassy soul who wasn’t scared to take on life’s challenges. Among her passions was her love of music and her love of family. Carol had a beautiful smile that could light up a room.

 

There are no words to express how grateful and blessed we are to have been given the opportunity to have known and loved Carol. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
