Lorraine Debra Bereta (nee Gaudet) beloved wife of Ted Joseph Bereta of Calgary, Alberta, Canada passed away on Thursday, November 16, 2023 at the age of 64 years.
Lorraine was born in Iserlohn, Germany on January 8, 1959. She married Ted on July 7, 1979. She was a teacher’s assistant for the Calgary Catholic School Board, Returning Officer for Alberta Elections, and an administrator for the Richmond/Knob Hill Community Association.
Lorraine accomplished much throughout her life and took immense pride in fundraising for various organizations, including the Alberta Children’s Hospital Foundation, Girl Guides of Canada, the Marda Loop Communities, Richmond Elementary School, and many others.
Lorraine particularly enjoyed coordinating family gatherings such as Cousin Christmas, Big Salad Day, Sunday family dinners, and many other holiday celebrations. She will be most remembered for her unwavering love and support for her family and friends.
Besides her loving husband Ted, Lorraine is survived by her three sons, Mel Bereta (Heidi), Jesse Bereta (Jennifer), and Steven Gaudet (Louise); nine grandchildren, Benjamin Roberts, Luc Roberts, Mark Roberts, Destinee Roberts, Adam Roberts, Zyler-Roque Bereta, Alexandra John, Bennett Bereta, and Parker Bereta; and four great-grandchildren, Rune Roberts, Harmony Roberts, Sorin Roberts, and Maximillian Power. Lorraine is also survived by her brother Wayne Gaudet (Trish), and two sisters, Karen Amyotte (Rick) and Dorene Loughlin (Colin); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Lorraine was predeceased by her infant twin sisters Sharon and Mary Gaudet.
Funeral Services will be held at McInnis & Holloway (Park Memorial, 5008 Elbow Drive SW, Calgary, AB) on Friday, November 24, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. Reception to follow in the Hospitality Centre at the Funeral Home. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed with Lorraine’s family here.
