Obituary of Neil Daniel McCaw

October 29, 1941 - November 17, 2023

Neil McCaw, beloved father and husband, passed away November 17, 2023, at the age of 82.

Neil was born in Edmonton AB to Annie Grace (Mickey) and Edwin Wilbert McCaw. Neil’s father was part of the military so after his birth he and his mother moved to Vancouver where Neil started school. After his military service was over the family moved to Calgary, AB where Neil finished out his high school career as captain of his basketball team. Neil headed north to study at NAIT in Edmonton. He landed a job in telecommunications with AGT in Calgary where he met and married the love of his life, Deanna on December 28, 1968. They started a family, having three children Shannon, Tracy, and Daniel. Transferring within AGT the McCAW family moved from Calgary to St. Albert, AB on to Vegreville, AB four years later they were on to Mississauga, ON.

Neil finished out his career with AGT in Calgary but not before he had a roll in a national commercial. After retiring, Neil’s love for woodworking led him to work for both House of Tools and Lee Valley Tools. Neil will be remembered by his kind heart welcoming smile and unending generosity.
 

Neil was predeceased by his loving wife Deanna (March 30, 2023). Neil is survived by his two daughters, Shannon (Tara) of Diamond Valley, Tracy (Kevin Rowe) of Calgary; his son Daniel (Stacy) of Calgary, and his five grandchildren, Shelby, Madison, Logan Gavriel, Séamus and Declan McCaw.
