Obituary of Verona Ivy Sloane

November 19, 2023 - Calgary, Alberta

Verona Sloane (nee Miller), beloved wife of the late Terry Sloane of Calgary, passed away on Sunday, November 19, 2023, at the age of 85 years.

Verona worked in the banking industry for all of her 35-year career, rising to a manager position in the Data Center. She will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. 

Verona loved to read, crochet, and watch nature shows. She was an avid apple pie baker and loved to teach the grandkids the fine art of cooking. She was a quiet person with always a kind word. 

Verona is survived by her three children, Tracie (Jay) Crooks, Todd and Trent (Freya) of Calgary; her ten grandchildren, and sixteen great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents, Ed and Ivy Miller and brother.

A Graveside Service will be held in Cayley, AB at a later date. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed with Verona’s family here.
