Obituary of Rameshchandra Vithalbhai Patel

Dr. Rameshchandra Patel, beloved husband of fifty-six years to Mradulata Patel of Calgary, passed away on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at the age of 81 years old. His legacy lives on through his children Dr. Saloni Patel (Dr. James Love), Sapan Grover (Dr. Rajiv Grover), Dr. Neetash Patel, and Milan Patel-Schuett (Ryan Schuett), and seven grandchildren: Surina, Sanjay, Raya, and Ronak Grover, Kasin and Kiran Schuett and Keaton Love. Despite the distance, Ramesh remained very close to his family in London, which includes his brothers, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, and extended family. 

Ramesh lived a life centered on supporting his family and enriching his community. He dedicated himself to others through a 45+ year career in family medicine, which started in Saskatchewan, and ultimately established himself in Brooks, AB. His career extended beyond his medical expertise, as he committed himself to community service and business development. He loved to golf with his beloved wife, he was an avid reader, and he was always excited to be challenged at a game of chess or cards by his grandchildren. Ramesh shared a great affection for the temple, he had a generous heart that inspired everyone around him, and he had an unrelenting sense of service to all. He was the humblest, pure-hearted man who will always be remembered for his compassion, selflessness, his humour, and the positive influence he had on everyone he met.
