Andrew Canning, beloved husband of Yvonne, was peacefully welcomed home to heaven on Saturday, November 25, 2023, at the age of 88 years.

Andrew was born in Birchy Bay, NL on February 24, 1935.

After he married Yvonne, they moved to Comfort Cove-Newstead, NL, in 1959 to start their family.

Andrew and Yvonne celebrated their 67th Wedding Anniversary on September 5th, 2023.

Throughout his life, Andrew blessed his loved ones through his love of carpentry, detailing each piece of wood that he touched; from the smallest spindle to the many homes, he built for his family. He made a near limitless number of unique creations, including snowshoes which can be found in homes across the country.

Andrew was a Solider of the Lord. He was a member of the Salvation Army and led a life full of devotion. He loved being in the woods surrounded by nature, always kept a fire burning and had a passion for hunting.

He will be most remembered for his deep love for Christ and his family.

Andrew is survived by his loving wife, Yvonne, his two daughters, Barbara (Doug) and Monique (Boyd), his five sons, Guy (Marilyn), Lawrence (Sherry), Faron, Ted (Angela) and Steven (Brittney); and twelve grandchildren, Jonathan, Sara, Zacharia, Jacob, Casey, Stephanie, Victoria, Amy, Jesse, Jorden, Hope, and Isaac; seven great-grandchildren, Axle, Nash, Asher, Rita, Reese, Emile, and Wylder.
