Obituary of George Patrick Davis

August 26, 1958 – Winnipeg, Manitoba

November 27, 2023 - Calgary, Alberta

George Davis, husband of Glenna Davis (née McCulloch), of Calgary, AB, passed away at home on Monday, November 27, 2023, at the age of 65 years.

George and Glenna were married in 1981 and had five children: Katie (Daniel), Emma (Brady), Brendan, Caleigh (Tom), and Robert (passed in 2019), as well as four grandchildren: Claire, Eva, Austin, and Asher. 

George was the eldest of five sons born of George Davis Sr.  and Maureen (née McEvoy). George’s brothers are: Joe (Gaby), Kevin, who passed in 2016 (Shannon), Danny (Robin), and Devin (Janice).

George loved cars and enjoyed his career in the car industry. He was passionate about music and would unwind every day listening to his large music collection, especially his vinyl records. George loved nature. He adored the beach - the sun, sand, and water and dreamed of a life on the coast. When living in Winnipeg, he would walk daily through the Assiniboine Park and gardens. He developed a keen interest in horticulture and was fascinated by the life of bees. 

Amidst all his loves, most of all George cherished his family. George’s face beamed when he saw his children and grandchildren. He loved to share stories and watch movies with them. He loved holiday traditions and meals together. George never forgot a birthday or holiday and made sure to send a card and heartfelt message to show that he was thinking of you. 

George had a keen sense of humour. He loved to make people laugh and feel comfortable. He was a fierce friend and appreciated those who had stood with him over the years. He always expressed gratitude to those many kind souls who supported him with his health challenges.

In his later years, George bravely fought a long battle with bladder cancer that caused him a lot of pain. While he is deeply missed by friends and family, they have comfort knowing he is no longer in pain and is now reunited with his departed parents, brother, and youngest son, Robert.
