Obituary of Rodney Richard Lee

September 25, 1966 – Montreal, Quebec

November 28, 2023 – Calgary, Alberta

Rodney Richard Lee, of Calgary, AB, passed away at the young age of 57 after a very short and aggressive battle with cancer, on Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at 6:34 a.m. (MST). He was surrounded with love by his two daughters.

Rodney was born in Pointe St. Charles, Montreal, QC, on September 25, 1966. He graduated from Verdun High School and moved to Calgary, AB, in 1996.

Rodney had an unequivocal love and devotion to the people he cared for, especially his daughters and grandchildren. He had the gift of understanding people from all walks of life and made friendships easily. His honesty was brutal but unquestioned. His selflessness and generosity, unmatched.

He was an inspiring strength, who overcame many hardships and losses. He wasn’t afraid to express his point of view and you knew where you stood with him. He lived life hard, but he loved harder.

Some of Rod's favorite sayings were “Oh fuck”, "Go fuck yourself", and "143". He will be remembered through his love for the Rolling Stones, his dark humor, his contagious laugh, his boisterous personality and all the love he had to give.

Rodney leaves behind his two daughters, Samantha, and Jennifer; his two sons-in-law, Rene, and Miguel; and his two grandchildren, Alicya, and Miliano. All of whom reside in Calgary, AB.

Rodney is also remembered by his two sisters, Irene and Barbara; two brothers-in-law, Ken, and John; and his brother, Gordie; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Rodney was predeceased by his grandson, Emilio; his immensely cherished mother and father, Velma, and Frederick Lee; his brothers, Donald, Bobby, and Kenny; his sisters, Jane, and Linda; his nephew, Romeo; his best friend, Slick; and many more whom he loved.

"Til the next time we say goodbye, I'll be thinking of you".
