Obituary of Laura Jadlowski (nee Buchanan)

November 30, 2023 - Calgary, Alberta

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Laura Jadlowski on Thursday, November 30, 2023 in Calgary, Alberta.

Leaving behind her husband of 48 years Richard; mother to David and Michael (Denise); nana to Tyler, Nicole, Luke, Dylan and Noah; brother-in-law Henry and mother-in-law Jozefa.
 
Laura was born in Dunham, Quebec and was predeceased by her parents Howard and Mavis Buchanan and family aunt Ada Gear, aunt Mildred Rykert and cousin Hamilton Yates.
 
Laura spent time in the Eastern Townships, Montreal and Ontario before moving to Calgary with husband Richard in 1977. Laura worked in the Insurance industry before moving to the Oil and Gas Industry in 1980. Laura worked for Dome Petroleum, Amoco, Crestar, Gulf and finally Conoco Phillips Canada before retiring at the age of 71. During this time Laura also achieved her CAPPA designation. Laura and Richard enjoyed travelling the world, mostly cruising, and travelled right up to March 2021 prior to covid closing the world down with their last trip to South Africa where Laura finally got to meet her cheetahs and spent time with them. 

Laura will be cremated in Calgary and a Committal Service will be held sometime next year (2024) at the All-Saint’s Anglican Church in Dunham, Quebec. Condolences, memories, and photos may be shared and viewed with Laura’s family here.

Richard would like to thank Dr. Sarah Evans, the Nurses and the Health Care Aids at Intercare Chinook Centre, Chinook Park Unit, who were wonderful in the caring of Laura. I would like to also thank our Family Doctor, Glenn Curtis, who was amazing in looking after us for over 20 years.
